Production Blog - The Start

    Hi there! I'm back! As you guys know I have to make a commercial in my media studies class. Choosing the songs, photos, and videos weren't easy at all. First of all I don't have very many photos or videos of myself. Second, choosing a song was probably one of the hardest things I had to do this week. I downloaded both iMovie and Capcut to make my commercial. I'm probably going to use iMovie because I'm more familiar with the app. I've been using iMovie since elementary school. Today I'm going to start with the layout. I'm not sure what order I want to put the videos and photos in, but I do know that I want them to switch according to the beat of the song. If you forgot... the song I chose is Candy by Robbie Williams. I think it represent me so much because the lyrics match my personality. The song is so fun and listening to it makes me dance. I'm a bit worried about this whole process because I'm not the best at editing. I know it'll all work out in the end though. I think I'm going to use a template just to help me out a bit because its been a while since I've used iMovie. Anyways, I think its time I get to work. I can tell this is going to be a log process. I will update you guys as much as I can. Bye for now!

Editing: Sound Effects

 Hey blog! I'm back! Today I continued to edit our final task! Today was mainly focused on the sound effects of the film. So far we have completed the title and transitions. My group mate Kylie stepped up for the job of sound effects so I helped in areas they I knew. We wanted to find the scenes with suspense to figure out where different music will be placed. This way we can find sounds on YouTube or other websites to add on top of our footage. Being able to find the right music took a bit of time but eventually we found something. Actually adding the sound effects was a bit difficult. I had to time the video and the sound effect correctly to make it sound and look perfect. After watching the video over and over again everything finally worked out. It took a bit longer then is was supposed to. In the end it looked good so the time was worth it. Reflection-All About Me Commercial

 What technology did you learn to use?  While making this commercial I learned more about iMovie, Capcut, and YouTube throughout the process. Using iMovie was a lot more difficult than I though it was going to be. Editing was the most important part about making this commercial. You might be able to add a ton of photos into iMovie, but the commercial wont come together unless it's edited. Originally I was going to use CapCut because lately I've been seeing seeing CapCut edits all over TikTok. I thought I would be able to make a commercial with it. Turns out CapCut isn't very easy to use. YouTube was pretty easy to use. all i had to do was upload my video, but i did need a bit of help with that lol. What did you learn about the process of putting a project together? One of the biggest things I learned was that the process takes time. I wanted to rush and get my commercial done. I think I could've made it better if I took my time with it. Another thing is time management....
