Peer Review

Hey blog! I'm back! My group is almost done with the final task! The only thing to do is get other peoples opinion on it! I asked my dad to watch over the film and give feedback. One of the first things he said was that he couldn't hear the background music very much. Thankfully this is something that wasn't to difficult to fix. The volume was raised to the point where you can hear it perfectly but it doesn't over power the sound effects. Another thing he mentioned was that the transitions were a bit messy. This was already something that the group was aware of. The problem was also fixed easily even though we had to trim the clips a little bit. Huge changes weren't necessary. Something I noticed on my own was that the quality of the shots were a bit different. In some clips they were clear and in others it was a bit blurry. It wasn't a noticeable difference, but after watching it 7+ times i started to notice the difference. There were many positives that the f

Music: Choosing the Audios

Hey blog! I'm back! It's time for the last day of editing! I'm so excited to get this film done, but honestly sad that this process is coming to an end. I had so much fun working on this film with my group! Even though some parts were a pain. Anyways, back to editing! Today we are choosing the music that will be in the background of the video! This is a very big decision. I reviewed many websites to see which one had the music that was a perfect fit. Royalty Free music is the best for us because we won't have to worry about copy write! Looking through the sounds was a bit overwhelming because there we so many to choose from! After a lot of debate, my group narrowed it down to 2 choices. Choosing between these two sounds was pretty easy. Simply because the first sound was a bit to fast for our film. It was also very loud and would make it hard to hear non-diegetic sounds. The second sound wasn't as loud and it fit our film perfectly. It gave our film the sense of su

Editing: Sound Effects

Hey blog! I'm back! Today I continued to edit our final task! Today was mainly focused on the sound effects of the film. So far we have completed the title and transitions. My group mate Kylie stepped up for the job of sound effects so I helped in areas they I knew. We wanted to find the scenes with suspense to figure out where different music will be placed. This way we can find sounds on YouTube or other websites to add on top of our footage. Being able to find the right music took a bit of time but eventually we found something. Actually adding the sound effects was a bit difficult. I had to time the video and the sound effect correctly to make it sound and look perfect. After watching the video over and over again everything finally worked out. It took a bit longer then is was supposed to. In the end it looked good so the time was worth it. Some of the videos had to be trimmed a bit to make sure the sound effects were able to fit in the film. Doing all this has helped my editi

Editing: Title and Transitions

Hey blog! I'm back and better then ever! I'm so excited to be able to start the editing process of the final task. Although it is going to be difficult, our group has designated much of the time we spend to editing the film. To start off the editing process, I helped work on the transitions and title. We have decided to use iMovie to edit because it is an app we are all familiar with. The entire group as apple devices meaning we can all access iMovie easily. I started helping with the editing as soon as possible because I  knew it would take a while. I have decided to dedicate 30 mins of my day to editing so I can help make this process go much quicker. One of my other group members have created the title and all that is needed is the credits. The credits are something that the entire group should do together. Working as a team should allow us to finish quickly. I believe the plan is to have a black screen and have the names appear there. Completing the editing process isn'

Filming Scenes 6-12

Hey blog! I'm back with another update! Today is a pretty big day! It's the day my group finishes filming! Unfortunately I was unable to film with them today due to a recent injury to my knee. I was very worried that I was going to mess up my groups schedule. Thankfully, some of their siblings were able to step up and fill in for my role. I did have a lot of lines that may be a bit difficult to memorize but I'm sure they handled it just fine! I will continue to work behind the scenes with editing and helping whenever I can. Thank goodness for phones, I was constantly getting updates about how the filming was going! There was a few times were my group took breaks that were a bit too long. Overall, they were very productive and go so much filming done! I'm so proud of them! I was able to watch what they had filmed on that day and the camera quality is so good! Using Kylie's camera was a really good idea. Hopefully the editing process goes smoothly and quickly.  Anywa

Filming Scenes 4 & 5

Hey blog! I'm back with another update! Today we filmed scenes 4 and 5! The filming process went a lot smoother today and I am so proud of my group! We learned out lesson from yesterday and was able to fix mistakes much easier. Although we didn't have as much time as we would have liked we got a lot done! Today I wasn't needed on screen so I helped behind the camera. I am not the designated camera man but I help wherever I can. This final task has allowed me to work better with a group and has allowed me to share ideas to make the film even better. So far we have filmed almost half of the scenes, but if we keep working like we did today we will be on the perfect track to finishing in time! In this film I play the part of a news reporter and a police officer which is in later scenes. Hopefully by the next time we film I'll be in front of the camera. The filming process went very smoothly today and I can tell that my group is getting comfortable working together! B

Filming Scenes 1, 2, and 3

Hey blog! I'm back with an update! After a lot of planning, we started filming today! When we first started filming it was a bit of a mess. There were a few issues that did set us back a little bit. The group had some trouble taking the filming seriously. Many takes were needed. I wasn't needed in these film because my part is later on! So instead, I worked behind the scenes. Although working behind the camera isn't as fun as being in front of it I had a lot of fun! Based on what has been filmed so far I think this the outcome of this film is going to be really good! As we start to get more into making the film I am going to step up and pitch in a lot more. Making this process as easy as possible is my number one goal. Hopefully filming will get a lot easier and we can complete a lot more in a shorter time. One of the biggest problems out group has is being able to meet at the same time. Due to all of us being busy, finding time to film is difficult. In the time that we do

Production Blog: The Start!

Hey blog! I'm back! Can you guess what time it is? Yup, production blog time! My group is starting our final task and I'm an so excited! I had filming the music video so I have very high hopes for this one. My group decided that Rowyn will be the main character! Last video we can remember that I was the bad guy. This time I'm one of the side actors! I'm not going to tell you what I am but I'm sure you will find out in later blogs. I am going to help all around in this task. Because this is a big project, my group and I will all pitch in to help in different ways. We are going to start filming sometime next week after school or possibly on the weekend. The plot starts at Rowyns house so we will go there to film first. While making the film I am going to learn how to work together with other actors to make the film as best as we can. I'll put in a ton of effort and try and make this process as easy as possible. Researching you characters and learning the script be
