Editing!!

Hey blog! I'm back! As you may know... we finished filming and now its time to start editing!  If I'm being completely honest, editing isn't my favorite thing to do. My group's main editor is my friend Rowyn. Although I wasn't the one doing all of the editing I did help out. I started out by deciding which transitions and cuts were going to be used. Throughout the video there are multiple fade ins and fade outs. These editing tools were used to show that there is a story taking place and is being shown step by step. There weren't any voice overs. The only sound used in the video was the song in the background. After Rowyn was finished with most of the editing, I looked back through the video to make sure she didn't make any mistakes. There was one shot that didn't have a transition. The way the two videos we put together looked a bit odd to me. I added a transition into the video to make it look more neat. There is one point in the video where we used an insert, and I must say.. it looks amazing! Like I said before, even though Rowyn did most of the editing I helped with making it look more neat as well as suggest things to her to make it even better than before! Editing: Sound Effects

 Hey blog! I'm back! Today I continued to edit our final task! Today was mainly focused on the sound effects of the film. So far we have completed the title and transitions. My group mate Kylie stepped up for the job of sound effects so I helped in areas they I knew. We wanted to find the scenes with suspense to figure out where different music will be placed. This way we can find sounds on YouTube or other websites to add on top of our footage. Being able to find the right music took a bit of time but eventually we found something. Actually adding the sound effects was a bit difficult. I had to time the video and the sound effect correctly to make it sound and look perfect. After watching the video over and over again everything finally worked out. It took a bit longer then is was supposed to. In the end it looked good so the time was worth it. Reflection-All About Me Commercial

 What technology did you learn to use?  While making this commercial I learned more about iMovie, Capcut, and YouTube throughout the process. Using iMovie was a lot more difficult than I though it was going to be. Editing was the most important part about making this commercial. You might be able to add a ton of photos into iMovie, but the commercial wont come together unless it's edited. Originally I was going to use CapCut because lately I've been seeing seeing CapCut edits all over TikTok. I thought I would be able to make a commercial with it. Turns out CapCut isn't very easy to use. YouTube was pretty easy to use. all i had to do was upload my video, but i did need a bit of help with that lol. What did you learn about the process of putting a project together? One of the biggest things I learned was that the process takes time. I wanted to rush and get my commercial done. I think I could've made it better if I took my time with it. Another thing is time management....
